“Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the first Black Panther Games!”

“Where do you see ladies?” Max asked critically, while Jayden balanced on fallen tree like it was a stage.

“Don´t interrupt me,” Jayden hissed. “As I said, the tournament to defeat Steffen continues and-“

“The tournament is named by me? That´s cool!” Steffen exclaimed. Fuming, Jayden rubbed his face but this time, he decided to ignore the interruption.

“The tournament continues with the second round, walking on hands!” Guys weakly applauded to reward Jayden´s enthusiasm. He glared at them from his spot on trunk and shook his head. “I´m always underappreciated,” he complained and jumped down from the trunk. “Ok, prepare. The rules are simple. Who manages to walk the most of steps on his hands before falling, wins.”

“Hands walking? Seriously?” Max asked with raised eyebrows. Shrugging, Serge turned to him.

“I tried to choose game which would lower Steffen´s chance to win as much as possible. This sounded like something which he can´t do.” Again, he shrugged to stress his point and pulled three matches from his pocket. “Who pulls the one without end, walks first,” he said, breaking off head of one of the matches. Steffen immediately sneaked closer to make his pull, choosing whole match.

“Ow, no. I wanted to start.”

“Wait on your turn,” Max advised his, pulling his own match. It was whole too, leaving Serge with the broken match and duty to start. Jayden quickly took over his commenting.

“And here we are,” he yelled enthusiastically. “First player will be Serge Collins, misfortunate cop from the Black Panther squad. We´ll see if he really has two left hands of if he manages to save his honor in this round!”

“Are you enjoying it too much?” Serge asked frowning. He pulled down his jacket and stretched himself. “Ok, I´m ready. Count how many steps I´ll make.” Carefully, Serge leaned forward, putting both his hands against the ground. Then he stood on them, balancing to keep standing. It was harder than he remembered from the school times, but he managed to step forward, making one slow and then two quick steps before falling over.

“Ow, only three,” Max mocked him.

“Try it yourself!” Serge snapped, standing up again. Max grinned casually and prepared himself for a handwalk. His stance was less stable than Serge´s and he had to move from side to side to balance it. Grin changed to focused frown when Max tried walking, but he fell after single step. Serge couldn´t  stop himself from teasing his friend.

“Still thinking that three steps aren´t enough?” he asked chuckling. “To me, it seems like quite enough.”

“Say what you want, but it´s my turn now,” Steffen joined, rubbing his hands eagerly. “I wonder how will I do.” Others moved aside to make him some space when the smallest cop leaned against the ground. He kicked his legs up to stand on his hands but instead, he overbalanced himself and fell on his back, making rather lame half somersault. Serge burst out laughing, barely keeping out.

“That was the worst hands walking I´ve ever seen!”

Lying on his back, Steffen tried to look at him with shy smile. “I´ve never did it before,” he admitted, slightly ashamed but still smiling a bit.

“Never mind, I´ll teach it to you one day,” Serge promised, helping Steff to get up. “But for now, I´m winner of the second round. Yeah!”

“You´re chances are getting up,” Max noted, patting Serge´s back. Steffen losing his bet still sounded like something which won´t happen, but he had to admit that Serge got quite far. And who knows, maybe he wins. That would be epic!

“Sooo,” Jayden stretched out dramatically, “let´s get ready for the round three. Swimming.”

* * * * *

Half and our later, at the edge of small forest lake.

“So, we really have to swim here?” Steffen asked nervously. He looked worried by the idea of swimming in wild and Max grinned behind his back.

“Of course. If we swam in river, Serge could get carried away again.”

“Hey! You got swept away too,” Serge complained.

“Yeah. While sawing YOU!”

“And we have to undress to swim?” Steffen continued, ignoring the fight behind him.

“Yeah. That´s why I said you all to bring swimsuits,” Serge retorted. Now dress up, gentlemen so we can kick Steffen´s butt in another game.” White haired cop´s eyes widened in worry.

“But you won´t kick my for real, would you?” He asked sacredly, taking step away from Serge and Max. Serge quickly shook his head.

“Of course not. I meant it only rhetorically. Now get ready.”

“I guess I´ll be the judge again,” Jay stated to himself. “Rules are simple,” he added louder. “Just swim to other side, step on shore to show that you got all the way there and then swim back. Who gets here the first, wins.”
Shorter chapter because I´m busy with exams. Wish me good luck and next part will come before end of week.:)
